While it is true that new citizenship routes appear periodically, only a select few have the potential to change the direction of an established market. Argentina is one of them. Our governmental advisory work relating to this framework has given us a close view of both the ambition behind the initiative as well as the aspects still being solidified.

Argentina’s significance extends well beyond the strength of its passport. In reality, the program will offer something genuinely different – citizenship in a G20 country with a substantial economy, globally recognized cities, respected universities, and a society in which international families could realistically spend part of their lives.

The country also offers a favorable geographic location, with substantial overlap with North American business hours, while remaining removed from many of today’s principal geopolitical flashpoints. The long-term value of citizenship should, therefore, be measured by the country behind the passport, not only by the number of destinations listed on a mobility index.
