For those who decide to spend a significant amount of time in the country, the AIP provides a pathway to citizenship after five years. New Zealand allows dual citizenship.

Benefits of the New Zealand Active Investor Plus Program

The principal applicant can include their spouse or legally recognized partner, any children under the age of 18, as well as dependent children up to the age of 24.

The investment is only required after approval of the visa application. Under the Growth stream, the family may apply for permanent residence after three years if they have spent only 21 days or more in country, making it very flexible for families with busy international lives. Furthermore, the investment may be unwound after Permanent Residence is achieved.

Children can also study at all schools and tertiary education providers as a domestic student
