Benefits of Portugal Golden Visa

  • Residence in an EU country and visa-free access across the 29 European Schengen countries for 90 days out of a 180-day period
  • Right to live, work, and study in Portugal
  • Low physical presence requirement (7 days during the first year of residence and 14 days in each subsequent 2-year period)
  • Pathway to EU citizenship after 5 years

Requirements of Portugal Golden Visa

To qualify for residence, you, the primary applicant must be over 18 years of age, meet the application requirements, and satisfy one of the investments options:

  • Invest EUR 500,000 in investment funds or venture capital funds (no real estate)
  • Create 10 permanent jobs
  • Make a capital transfer of EUR 500,000 to incorporate a commercial company plus create 5 permanent jobs
  • Transfer EUR 500,000 in capital for research activities carried out by public or private scientific institutions that are part of the national scientific and technological system
  • Make a capital transfer of EUR 250,000 or more to support the investment or artistic production, recovery, and maintenance of national cultural heritage
