Argentina is preparing a new citizenship program for investors, which is expected to be the first of its kind in South America. Building on measures introduced in 2025, the initiative aims to bring in overseas investment that supports the country’s broader economic agenda, with government review and due diligence built into the process.

Requirements of Argentina Citizenship by Investment

To qualify for citizenship, the main applicant must be over 18 years of age, meet the application requirements, and make a qualifying investment in Argentina (to be confirmed).

The formal application process is expected to be clarified once the program is officially introduced. Based on currently available information, the framework is expected to involve the following stages:

  • Submission of an application together with the required supporting documents and proof of the qualifying investment
  • Comprehensive due diligence, combining checks by leading international due diligence providers with national security screening
  • Review and determination by the relevant authorities under the program’s administrative framework
  • Grant of citizenship once approval has been issued and all applicable conditions have been fulfilled
