To become a Polish citizen by descent, no donation, investment, or due diligence is required. You must simply provide a number of documents including original birth, marriage, and other civil records to prove your claim. All documents must be translated into Polish by a sworn translator registered in Poland.
Applications for Polish citizenship by descent are processed in Poland at the Warsaw Citizenship Office. Once a decision is made, confirmation of citizenship is either mailed to an applicant-appointed third party in Poland, or the applicant can give power of attorney to a consular officer to receive notification on his or her behalf. After citizenship is conferred, the applicant must arrange for the registration of his/her vital records (birth, marriage, divorce, etc.) in Poland.
